However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs about the probability of each exact score. If a significant number of traders believe a particular outcome is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. This can sometimes lead to more accurate predictions, as the market aggregates diverse perspectives and information, though discrepancies can also occur due to differing risk appetites and market participants.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores. The price of each share reflects the market's collective belief about the probability of that score occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect new information and sentiment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand; if many traders buy shares in a specific outcome, its price will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds are constantly updated based on the latest insights.
This market resolves around Oct 30, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the Villarreal CF vs. RCD Espanyol de Barcelona match will be used to determine the winning shares. The resolution will be based on the official result declared by the governing football authorities. Traders holding shares in the correct exact score will be paid out according to the market's payout structure at the time of resolution, while shares in incorrect scores will expire worthless.
Several factors could influence the trading activity and price movements in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, team formations, or changes in coaching staff for either Villarreal or Espanyol could significantly impact the perceived probabilities of different scores. Unexpected weather conditions on match day could also play a role. Furthermore, general football news, analyst predictions, and even significant betting activity in traditional sportsbooks could all contribute to shifts in this market as traders react to new information and refine their forecasts.
