In the upcoming La Liga game between Villarreal CF and Elche CF, scheduled for October 17, 2026 at 10:15 AM ET: This market will resolve based on the halftime score of the Villarreal CF vs. Elche CF match originally scheduled for October 17, 2026 at 10:15 AM ET, considering only goals scored within the first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time; second-half goals, extra time, and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual halftime score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks incorporate a profit margin into their odds, while this market represents the aggregate belief of informed traders. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially when there’s significant public interest or disagreement about the likely outcome. These differences can arise from varying levels of information, analytical approaches, and biases among bettors and market participants. Examining both can provide a more comprehensive view of potential outcomes.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different possible first-half scores. The price of each share reflects the market’s assessment of the probability of that score occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective wisdom of the crowd. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price movements are driven by supply and demand, influenced by news, team form, and other relevant information. The current volume traded is $71.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the official first-half score reported by a recognized sports data provider will determine the winning outcome. The resolution will be based on the score at the end of the first half of the Villarreal CF versus Elche CF match, as officially recorded. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final, verified result of this market.
Several signals could influence the price action of this market before Oct 17, 2026. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Villarreal or Elche would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team form, such as recent match results or tactical adjustments, could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions on match day might also play a role, as could any late-breaking news about team lineups or internal conflicts. Significant betting activity or large trades on Polymarket could also trigger price fluctuations.
