Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, incorporating a margin for themselves. This market, however, is driven purely by traders’ willingness to buy or sell, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities, especially as the event approaches. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, biases, or simply the dynamics of each market. It is common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information than sportsbooks.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in specific outcomes. The price of each share reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability. Conversely, selling pressure drives prices down. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly adapt to new information and reflect the collective intelligence of the participants.
This market resolves around Oct 23, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the VfB Stuttgart versus Borussia Mönchengladbach match will be used to determine the winning outcome. The resolution will be based on the official result published by the league organizers, ensuring a transparent and verifiable process.
