Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin. This market, however, is driven purely by traders’ beliefs, and the price represents the collective wisdom of the crowd. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, prediction markets can quickly adjust to new information or shifts in sentiment. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information access and varying risk appetites among participants.
