Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective predictions of traders, potentially revealing a more accurate assessment of probabilities. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, this market evolves as new information emerges and more traders participate. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as the event approaches and more volume is traded.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, indicating growing confidence. Conversely, selling pressure drives the price down. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds constantly adapt to new information and changing sentiment.

This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Vasyl vs. Dmytro match, as reported by recognized sporting authorities. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine the winning outcome and distribute payouts accordingly. Traders should monitor official sources for the final result, as this will be the basis for settlement.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before Oct 11, 2026. Any news regarding the condition of either athlete – injuries, illness, or changes in training – would likely have a significant impact. Unexpected announcements about the match schedule or location could also cause shifts in the odds. Furthermore, public sentiment and expert analysis, if widely disseminated, can influence trader behavior. Major upsets in related matches or tournaments could also indirectly affect this market, as traders adjust their overall assessment of the athletes' form.
