Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often reflect a 'wisdom of the crowd' that can differ from traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while prediction markets are driven purely by participants' beliefs about the likelihood of an event. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public opinion strongly diverges from expert analysis. While sportsbooks may incorporate subjective factors, this market aggregates the collective judgment of many individuals, potentially offering a more accurate forecast. The difference in odds can also stem from varying levels of market efficiency and information access.
