On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current implied probability of a particular player winning is reflected in the share price, and the market adjusts dynamically based on new information and trader sentiment. The total volume traded influences the market's liquidity and price discovery.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Varchenko vs. Stukalov match, as reported by the governing sporting body. The platform will verify the result against publicly available information to determine which player is declared the winner. Traders holding shares in the winning player will receive a payout equivalent to 1 minus the cost of their shares, while those holding shares in the losing player will lose their investment.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in playing conditions, or updates on their recent performance could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about team strategies or coaching decisions could also impact the odds. Public opinion, as reflected in sports news and analysis, can also play a role, though the market's price is ultimately determined by trader activity. Significant shifts in these areas could lead to substantial movements in the market price.
