This set of markets tracks how many touchdowns each team scores through receptions in an upcoming college football game. The outcomes depend on whether specified players achieve certain thresholds of receiving touchdowns during the match.
These markets resolve based on the total number of receiving touchdowns scored by either Vanderbilt or Georgia in their game scheduled for October 3, 2026. A receiving touchdown is counted only when a player catches the ball and scores without another player recovering a fumble. Touchdowns scored after a fumble recovery by a different player do not qualify. All receiving touchdowns, including those in overtime periods, are included in the count. Successful two-point conversions are excluded from the tally, regardless of when they occur. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain active and resolve according to the final official result. Should the game fail to commence within the 48-hour window, the markets will resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own analysis. Frequently, you’ll see prediction markets move independently of sportsbook lines, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. It’s common to observe discrepancies, as prediction markets can incorporate a broader range of data and opinions than sportsbooks.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more people buy contracts predicting a specific team will score receiving touchdowns, the price of those contracts will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of all traders involved.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on which teams actually score receiving touchdowns during the Vanderbilt vs Georgia football game. The final score and play-by-play data will be used to determine which outcomes are winners. The market will then pay out to those who correctly predicted the number of receiving touchdowns scored by each team.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Injury reports for key wide receivers or tight ends on either Vanderbilt or Georgia would be significant catalysts. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if heavy rain or strong winds are predicted, could also impact the likelihood of passing plays and receiving touchdowns. Additionally, any news regarding coaching strategies or offensive play-calling adjustments could shift trader sentiment and affect the market price. Finally, even public perception and social media buzz surrounding the game could contribute to price fluctuations.
