Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of people believe one team is more likely to score first, the price for that outcome will decrease, indicating a higher implied probability. Discrepancies between this market and sportsbooks can present opportunities for arbitrage, though transaction costs and differing market liquidity should be considered.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome – Vanderbilt or Georgia scoring the first touchdown. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand. As more people buy a contract, its price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and reflect the collective prediction of all participants. The current price represents the market’s assessment of the probability of each team scoring first.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team scored the first touchdown in the Vanderbilt vs Georgia football game. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and play-by-play data. Any disputes will be handled according to Kalshi’s market rules, ensuring a fair and transparent resolution process for all traders involved in this market.
