This market focuses on predicting whether either team will win the first period of an NHL game by a margin of two or more goals. It specifically tracks the performance of teams in the opening segment of the match, ignoring later periods or overtime scenarios. The outcome depends solely on the score difference within the first period of the scheduled game.
The event determines whether either Vancouver or Anaheim wins the first period by more than a 1.5 goal margin. If Anaheim achieves this margin, the market resolves to Yes under the first rule. Conversely, if Vancouver meets the same criteria, the market also resolves to Yes under the second rule. Both rules share identical secondary conditions: overtime in the third period is excluded from consideration, and if the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of its original time, the market remains active and resolves based on the official result. If the game is cancelled or does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price.
