In the upcoming La Liga game between Valencia CF and Athletic Club, scheduled for October 17, 2026 at 3:00 PM ET: This market will resolve based on the halftime score of the Valencia CF vs. Athletic Club match originally scheduled for October 17, 2026 at 3:00 PM ET, considering only goals scored within the first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time; second-half goals, extra time, and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual halftime score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. This can be due to the wisdom of the crowd effect, where the collective predictions of many individuals can be more accurate than those of a few experts. Sportsbooks may incorporate factors like team news or public perception, while this market reflects purely the aggregated beliefs of traders. Discrepancies can arise from differing risk assessments and the incentives of each venue. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information than sportsbooks.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell contracts representing different possible exact scores in the first half. The price of each contract reflects the market’s implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their beliefs, the prices adjust accordingly, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the likely result. The market’s depth – the volume of contracts available at different price points – also indicates the level of confidence in each outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score at the end of the first half of the Valencia CF versus Athletic Club match will determine the winning contract. The resolution will be based on the official result as reported by a recognized sports data provider. Traders will be able to claim their winnings once the outcome is officially verified and the market is settled on Polymarket.
Several factors could significantly influence this market before resolution. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Valencia CF or Athletic Club would likely cause price shifts. Unexpected changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced shortly before kickoff could also move the market. Even significant weather conditions, if they impact playing style, could play a role. Additionally, any major shifts in public sentiment or expert predictions regarding the match outcome could influence trader behavior and, therefore, the prices within this market.
