This market tracks which team will lead at the end of the first half in an upcoming college football game between Utah Tech and Cal Poly. It focuses solely on the performance during the initial 30 minutes of play, ignoring the final game result. The outcome depends purely on which team has more points at halftime.
The market resolves based on the first half performance of the Utah Tech vs Cal Poly college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. If either team leads at the end of the first half, the corresponding market will resolve to Yes. If the game ends in a tie at halftime, the Tie market resolves to Yes. Postponements are allowed up to 48 hours beyond the original start time without affecting resolution, with the result determined by the official halftime score at that time. If the game does not commence within 48 hours of its scheduled start, the market will resolve to a fair price. All outcomes consider only points scored during the first half, and Kalshi disclaims any official affiliation with the governing league or ownership of related trademarks.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs about the likely outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists between the two, opportunities for arbitrage may arise. However, it's important to remember that both represent probabilities as perceived by different groups, and neither guarantees the actual result of the Utah Tech vs Cal Poly game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where buyers and sellers set the price of contracts representing a bet on the first half winner. The price of a contract ranges from 0 to 100, representing the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective intelligence of those trading on Kalshi.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the first half winner of the Utah Tech vs Cal Poly game will be used to determine the winning contract. The resolution will be based on the official result as reported by a trusted sports data source, ensuring a fair and transparent process. Traders holding contracts for the winning team will receive a payout of 100 per share, while those holding contracts for the losing team will receive 0.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before the game concludes. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Utah Tech or Cal Poly team would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they favor one team's playing style, could also impact trader sentiment. Additionally, late-breaking news about team morale, coaching decisions, or even perceived momentum shifts based on pre-game warmups could all contribute to fluctuations in the market price. Public polling data, if available, might also play a role.
