Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can diverge for several reasons. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform has a different user base, trading incentives, and liquidity, which can influence price discovery. Furthermore, the specific market structures—such as the types of contracts offered—may vary, attracting different types of traders and impacting valuations. The current volume of $305,020 is relatively low, which can amplify these differences, as smaller trading volumes are more susceptible to price swings based on individual trades.
Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either team, changes in coaching strategies, or even weather conditions could impact predictions. Unexpected announcements related to team morale or player availability could also trigger significant movement. Public sentiment, as reflected in social media and sports news, can also play a role, especially as the game date approaches. Monitoring these signals will be crucial for understanding how this market evolves.
