This set of markets tracks the point differential between Utah State and Texas State in their upcoming college football game. Each market corresponds to a specific margin of victory, allowing participants to bet on whether the winning team will exceed that margin.
All markets resolve based on the official final score of the Utah State vs Texas State college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. If Texas State wins, markets resolve to Yes if their victory margin exceeds the specified point threshold; if Utah State wins, markets resolve to Yes if their margin exceeds the threshold. For markets where Utah State is the specified winner, the outcome reverses accordingly. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of the original start time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game fails to start within this 48-hour window, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants under these contingency conditions.
Typically, prediction market odds tend to align with those offered by sportsbooks, but often reflect a more informed, aggregated view of the likely outcome. Sportsbook odds are set by professional oddsmakers, while this market is driven by the collective predictions of many individual traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information or biases, and sometimes prediction markets can offer more favorable odds, particularly as the event approaches. It’s always wise to compare both to find the best value for your predictions.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, meaning the price fluctuates based on buy and sell orders placed by traders. When more people want to buy (bet on) a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price represents the probability that traders collectively assign to that outcome occurring. The market’s depth—the volume of buy and sell orders at various price points—indicates how confident traders are in their predictions and how much liquidity exists.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the final point spread of the Utah St. vs Texas St. game, as determined by official game statistics. The market will settle to 100 if Texas St. wins by more than the spread, and to 0 if Utah St. wins by more than the spread, with a linear interpolation in between. Traders holding winning positions will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could influence this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Utah St. or Texas St. teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they are expected to impact the game, could also shift the market. Additionally, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions could affect trader sentiment. Finally, large volume trades on Kalshi itself can create price swings, especially if they represent informed bets from experienced traders.
