This set of markets focuses on predicting the outcome of the second half of a college football game between USC and Wisconsin, specifically how many points one team will win by over the other in that half. Each market represents a different point margin threshold that must be exceeded for the bet to win.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the second half (including overtime) of the USC vs Wisconsin college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. For any market where USC must win by a specified margin, if USC's second-half point differential exceeds that margin, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Conversely, for markets where Wisconsin must win by a specified margin, if Wisconsin's second-half point differential exceeds that margin, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the official final result from that resumed game. If the game fails to start within 48 hours of its original scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price, meaning they are settled equitably rather than strictly according to the stated outcomes. All markets are independent, and the resolution of one does not affect the others.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on their own analysis, incorporating factors like team statistics and expert opinions, but may also include a margin for profit. This market, driven by traders on Kalshi, represents a collective forecast. Often, prediction markets are more accurate than traditional forecasts, especially when a diverse group participates, as they can quickly adapt to new information and changing perceptions about the likely outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads for the second half. The price of each contract indicates the probability of that spread occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe a particular spread is likely, the higher the price of the corresponding contract will be. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to reflect real-time sentiment and adjust to new information as it becomes available, creating a constantly evolving forecast for the USC vs Wisconsin game.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final point spread in the second half of the USC vs Wisconsin game will be used to determine which contracts pay out. The market will settle based on the official result, as reported by a trusted source for college football scores. Traders who correctly predicted the spread will receive a payout based on the contract's value at the time of purchase, while those who predicted incorrectly will forfeit their investment.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market before Oct 25, 2026. Key injuries to star players on either the USC or Wisconsin teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse conditions, could also shift the odds. Unexpected news regarding team morale or coaching decisions might also cause fluctuations. Finally, any significant shifts in public perception, perhaps driven by pre-game analysis or expert predictions, could lead to increased trading activity and price adjustments in this market.
