PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)

Both Polymarket and Predict define identical resolution criteria regarding the first goal scored within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, and the 'Neither' outcome.Primary resolution logic: Official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers, with fallback to Flashscore, then Sofascore, then a consensus of credible reporting.

Core resolution logic:

  • The first team to score during the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time wins the market.
  • If neither team scores within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, the market resolves to 'Neither'.
  • Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded from consideration.

Edge cases & clarifications:

  • Postponement: If the game is postponed, the market remains open until the game is completed.
  • Cancellation: If the game is canceled entirely with no make-up game, the market resolves to 'Neither'.
  • Data Availability: If official statistics are unavailable within 2 hours of the event's conclusion, Flashscore data will be used. If Flashscore is unavailable, Sofascore will be used. If neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting will be used. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours, the market resolves 50-50 (or to 'Draw' where applicable).
Timing: Resolution will occur after the completion of the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, with a maximum delay of 24 hours due to data sourcing. Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict for this market, often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to profit from margins, while prediction markets allow users to freely trade and express their beliefs. This can lead to discrepancies, as prediction markets may incorporate information not fully captured by sportsbook algorithms. However, both aim to forecast the same outcome – in this case, which team will score first – and often converge as the event approaches, though differences can still occur due to varying market participants and information access.

Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Prices on Polymarket and Predict for the Sassuolo vs Fiorentina first-to-score market may differ due to several factors. Each platform attracts a different user base with varying levels of expertise and information. Trading volume also plays a role; higher volume on one platform can lead to more efficient price discovery. Furthermore, the specific mechanisms for trading and market making can influence price formation. For example, Polymarket might have different liquidity providers or fee structures than Predict, impacting how quickly prices adjust to new information. These nuances contribute to the observed price discrepancies.
