Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market aims to represent the true probability as assessed by traders. If a significant discrepancy exists between the implied probability on Polymarket and sportsbook odds, it could indicate that traders believe the sportsbook is mispricing the event. However, sportsbooks have access to different information and expertise, so differences are common and don't necessarily mean one is 'wrong'.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price reflects the collective wisdom of the crowd, constantly updating as new information becomes available and traders adjust their positions. The current volume traded suggests a degree of confidence in the market's assessment.

This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the outcome will be determined by which team, if any, scores the first goal in the first half of the Sassuolo vs. Milan match. The official match records will be used to verify the result. The platform will then confirm the winning outcome based on this information, distributing payouts to those who correctly predicted the first team to score.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Sassuolo or Milan would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments, or even weather conditions could also sway traders' opinions. Unexpected lineup announcements close to kickoff could also cause movement. Any information that alters perceptions of either team's scoring ability will likely be reflected in the price of shares on Polymarket.
