Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market represents the collective beliefs of traders. If a significant number of informed bettors believe a sportsbook has mispriced a team’s chances, you might see the prediction market odds diverge. It’s common to find that prediction markets are more accurate than sportsbook odds, especially when considering long-term outcomes, but they can also be influenced by speculation and short-term sentiment.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust accordingly, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the likelihood of either Lecce or Genoa scoring first in the second half. The market’s efficiency relies on the active participation of informed traders.

This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the second half of the US Lecce vs. Genoa CFC match. Official match data will be used to determine the winning outcome. The platform will verify the result against established sports data sources to ensure accuracy and transparency. The outcome will be clearly displayed on the Polymarket market page following the match’s completion.

Several factors could influence the price of this market. Late-breaking news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Lecce or Genoa would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even weather conditions on match day could all impact trader sentiment. Unexpected news about key players, such as a sudden illness, could also shift the odds. Any information that alters the perceived probability of either team scoring first in the second half has the potential to move this market.
