Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to express their own independent assessments of the probability of either Avellino or Pisa scoring first. These differences can arise due to varying levels of information, biases, or simply differing opinions among bettors and prediction market participants. It's common to see prediction markets more accurately reflect true probabilities, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the crowd. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price indicates what the market believes is the likelihood of either Avellino or Pisa being the first to score, and it will fluctuate based on new information and trading activity.
