Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the game's outcome. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public opinion diverges from the sportsbook's initial assessment. It’s possible to find value by comparing the implied probabilities between this market and those offered by sportsbooks.
Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can diverge due to several factors. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform has a different user base with varying levels of expertise and access to information, which influences trading decisions. Furthermore, the specific market structures – such as the types of contracts offered and the fees charged – can also contribute to price differences. Trading volume also plays a role; a market with higher volume on one platform may have more efficient price discovery. These dynamics create opportunities for arbitrage, where traders attempt to profit from price discrepancies across platforms.
This market resolves around Nov 15, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final result of the UNLV vs. New Mexico game, as reported by official sources, will determine the winning outcome in this market.
