This prediction market asks which team – the United States or Canada – will score the first goal in their upcoming match. It also includes a market for the possibility that neither team scores within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. Resolution is based on official match statistics, with fallback sources specified.
In the upcoming match between United States and Canada, scheduled for October 6, 2026 at 8:07 PM ET: This market will resolve to "United States" if United States are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. This market will resolve to "Canada" if Canada are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. If neither team scores within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, this market will resolve "Neither". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to the outcome within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Prediction market odds, like those found in this market, often reflect a more diverse range of information than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks typically set lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, while prediction markets incorporate the collective wisdom of many individuals. This can lead to prediction market prices being more accurate, especially when there’s significant uncertainty or insider information not yet reflected in sportsbook lines. However, sportsbooks may offer more competitive pricing due to their ability to hedge bets and manage risk differently. It’s often beneficial to compare both to identify potential value.
Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Price discrepancies between Polymarket and Predict for the US vs. Canada first goal market can arise due to several factors. Differences in user base, trading activity, and risk appetite contribute to varying valuations. Polymarket may attract a different demographic of traders compared to Predict, leading to distinct perspectives on the probability of each team scoring first. Furthermore, the volume of trading on each platform – currently $930 – can influence price discovery and create temporary imbalances. These factors contribute to a dynamic pricing environment across both platforms.
Several signals could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either the United States or Canada would likely cause price movement. Changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced by the coaches could also influence trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions on game day might also shift probabilities. Furthermore, major upsets in other related sporting events could affect overall confidence in either team, leading to adjustments in the odds. Monitoring these factors will be crucial for traders looking to capitalize on potential shifts in this market.
