Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market’s prices are driven purely by supply and demand. If a significant number of traders believe a particular exact score is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. This can sometimes create opportunities for value betting, where the prediction market offers better odds than available elsewhere, based on differing probabilities.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing each possible exact score, and the price of each share reflects the market’s implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more shares purchased for a specific exact score, the higher its price rises, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective beliefs of all participants, creating a constantly updated forecast for the Union Saint-Gilloise vs. Cercle Brugge match.
