Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their risk and ensure profitability, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs about the outcome. Early on, you might find discrepancies, with sportsbooks potentially incorporating biases or focusing on public perception. As the event approaches, this market tends to converge with sportsbook odds, especially if significant money flows in, but it can also diverge if new information emerges or if the crowd has a unique insight. It's a fascinating comparison to observe.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders can buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes of the Malott vs. Buckley fight. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective belief of the traders. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe a particular outcome will occur, the higher the price of that contract will rise. This creates a dynamic pricing mechanism that attempts to accurately forecast the event's result. Traders are essentially betting against each other, rather than against the house, which can lead to more efficient price discovery.

This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result declared by the UFC following the completion of the Malott vs. Buckley fight. This includes determining the winner, whether by knockout, submission, or decision. The platform will then verify the result against established sources to ensure accuracy and finalize the market settlement. The winning contract will be the one corresponding to the officially declared outcome of the fight.

Several signals could significantly impact this market before Oct 18, 2026. Any news regarding injuries to either fighter, changes in their training regimens, or even pre-fight press conference statements could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected betting trends in traditional sportsbooks could also influence the market. Furthermore, analysis from MMA experts and updated fight previews could sway opinions. A significant shift in public perception, perhaps driven by social media buzz or a viral video, might also play a role. Monitoring these factors will be key to understanding potential price movements in this market.
