Prediction market odds, like those found on Predict and Limitless, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the differing incentives and information sources. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while prediction markets rely on the collective intelligence of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. This market may reveal insights not fully captured by sportsbooks, particularly if a significant amount of informed betting occurs. Discrepancies can also arise from differing risk assessments and the inclusion of various factors by market participants.
Predict and Limitless can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Prices on Predict and Limitless for this market can diverge due to several factors. Each platform attracts a different user base with varying levels of expertise and access to information. Trading volume and liquidity also play a role; a market with higher volume on one platform may have more efficient price discovery. Furthermore, the specific mechanisms for trading and order execution can influence price formation. These differences contribute to potentially distinct probabilities for the same event across the two platforms, offering opportunities for arbitrage.
