Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market is driven purely by traders’ willingness to buy or sell. If a significant discrepancy emerges between this market and sportsbook odds, it could indicate that prediction market participants believe the sportsbook is mispricing the likelihood of a particular outcome. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities as perceived by different groups.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders can buy 'yes' shares (believing the outcome will occur) or sell 'no' shares (believing it won’t). The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a real-time probability assessment. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing means the odds are constantly adjusting as new information becomes available and traders update their beliefs about the fight. The current price reflects the collective judgment of all participants on Limitless.

This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result declared by the UFC for the Meerschaert vs. Walker fight. Specifically, it will reflect which fighter is declared the winner according to the official fight rules. Any potential disputes or challenges to the official result will be considered according to Limitless’s market rules, but the initial official declaration will be the primary determinant.

Several signals could influence this market before Oct 12, 2026. Any news regarding fighter injuries, changes in weight class, or adjustments to their training regimens could significantly shift the odds. Public statements from the fighters or their coaches, particularly those revealing strategic insights, could also impact trading activity. Unexpected betting trends in traditional sportsbooks might also cause traders to reassess their positions. Finally, any major upsets in related fights leading up to the event could influence overall market sentiment and lead to price movements.
