Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the varying incentives and information sources. Sportsbooks primarily aim to set lines that balance betting action and ensure profitability, while prediction markets aggregate the opinions of informed traders. This can lead to prediction markets reflecting a more accurate probability assessment, particularly when significant information isn't yet widely available. However, sportsbooks often have lower transaction costs and wider accessibility. This market offers a unique perspective, potentially identifying discrepancies between public perception and informed predictions.
