Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from traditional sportsbook odds due to varying levels of information and incentives. Sportsbooks incorporate a profit margin into their odds, while this market is driven purely by traders predicting the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, it could indicate that the market believes the sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a team scoring first in the second half. However, it's important to remember that both represent probabilities, and neither is guaranteed to be accurate.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the likelihood of either Udinese or Lecce scoring first in the second half. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to changing conditions and insights.

This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the outcome will be determined by which team—Udinese Calcio or US Lecce—scores the first goal in the second half of the match. The result will be verified against official match data and reporting from trusted sports news sources. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in starting lineups, or tactical adjustments announced before or during halftime could significantly shift expectations. Live game events, such as early second-half fouls or yellow cards, could also impact the perceived likelihood of either team scoring first. Furthermore, general shifts in public sentiment or analysis regarding the teams' form and attacking capabilities could drive trading activity and alter the odds.
