Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs about the likelihood of each outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists between prediction market prices and sportsbook odds, it may indicate a potential arbitrage opportunity. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities as perceived by different groups, and neither is guaranteed to be perfectly accurate.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust to reflect the collective assessment of the market. The current price reflects the aggregated expectations of all participants, making it a dynamic and responsive indicator of potential outcomes.

This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team scores the first goal in the second half of the Udinese Calcio versus AS Roma match. The result will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. The resolution will be straightforward, identifying the team that first finds the back of the net during the second 45 minutes of play, plus any added time.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding team injuries, suspensions, or changes in starting lineups could significantly shift expectations. Additionally, in-game events during the first half, such as red cards or early goals, could impact the perceived likelihood of either team scoring first in the second half. Broader factors like weather conditions or changes in team form could also play a role, as traders continually update their assessments based on new information.
