This set of markets tracks how many touchdowns are scored by players catching passes during a college football game. The outcomes depend on whether specific teams reach certain thresholds of such scores throughout the match, including any overtime periods.
All markets resolve based on the total number of receiving touchdowns each team scores during the UCLA vs Oregon college football game scheduled for October 10, 2026, including any overtime periods. A receiving touchdown is counted only when the player who catches the pass scores; if another player recovers a fumble and scores, it does not count as a receiving touchdown, though if the original receiving player recovers their own fumble and scores, it does count. Successful two-point conversions, regardless of when they occur, are not counted toward any market outcome. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of its original time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the final official result. If the game does not start within that 48-hour window, markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi explicitly states it is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own predictions. Often, prediction markets are more accurate than traditional forecasts, especially when there's significant public interest and trading volume. However, sportsbook odds are readily available and provide a useful benchmark for comparison, though they represent a different mechanism for assessing probabilities.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the event occurring, scaled to a value between 0 and 100. As more people buy contracts predicting a touchdown, the price increases, reflecting a higher perceived probability. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts to new information and trader sentiment, providing a real-time assessment of expectations for the game. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of its participants.
This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on whether each team scores at least one touchdown during the UCLA vs Oregon game. The final score and official game statistics will be used to determine which contracts pay out. The platform will verify the outcome against established sports data sources to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Injury reports for key offensive players on either team would likely have a significant impact, as would any changes to the weather forecast. Unexpected news regarding team strategy or coaching decisions could also shift expectations. Furthermore, as the game approaches, any public statements from players or coaches could influence sentiment. Finally, large trading volume from informed participants could signal a shift in the perceived probability of a team scoring a touchdown, causing the price to move accordingly.
