Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can diverge due to several factors. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform has its own user base, trading dynamics, and risk tolerance, which can influence pricing. Additionally, differing market structures and fee schedules may contribute to price discrepancies. The volume traded on each platform also plays a role; lower volume on one platform can lead to wider bid-ask spreads and more volatile pricing. Finally, differing interpretations of available information about the UCLA-Oregon football game can cause traders on each platform to assign different probabilities to various outcomes.
