This market refers to which team's player records the highest individual run total in the cricket match between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe scheduled for October 19 2026 at 1:30 AM ET in UAE Tri-Nations ODIs. The outcome corresponding to Afghanistan will be considered correct if the highest individual score in the match is recorded exclusively by a player from Afghanistan. The outcome corresponding to Zimbabwe will be considered correct if the highest individual score is recorded exclusively by a player from Zimbabwe. If the highest individual score is shared by at least one player from each team, the market will resolve to Draw. The market will resolve according to which team's player records the highest individual run total regardless of if the match is not competed (e.g. Due to weather conditions). DLS/DRS adjustments and any other on-field rulings affecting batting statistics are treated as ordinary data. If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without official batting statistics being recorded, the market will resolve Draw. If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and official statistics are available.

Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, potentially differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own analysis. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced a player’s chances, the odds here can diverge. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform traditional odds, especially as new information emerges and the event draws closer. Comparing the two can offer valuable insights into public and informed opinion.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each player being the top batter. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome. As more traders buy shares in a particular player, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts to new information and trader sentiment, providing a real-time assessment of probabilities. This creates a fluid and responsive pricing system driven by the collective intelligence of the participants.
This market resolves around Oct 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which player scores the most runs in the match, according to official match statistics. In the event of a tie, the market will resolve based on pre-defined tie-breaking rules outlined on Polymarket. The final result will be determined by the official scorecard and verified against trusted sports news sources, ensuring a transparent and accurate outcome for all traders in this market.
Several factors could influence the odds in this market. Any news regarding player form, injuries, or changes to the playing conditions (like the pitch report) could significantly shift trader sentiment. Unexpected weather forecasts impacting the match schedule could also cause movement. Furthermore, pre-match analysis from cricket experts and any late-breaking team announcements are likely to be closely watched by traders. A strong performance by a player in a recent match, or a key tactical decision by the team management, could all contribute to changes in the probabilities reflected in this market.
