This market refers to the cricket match between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe scheduled for October 19 2026 at 1:30 AM ET in UAE Tri-Nations ODIs. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook odds which are set by professional oddsmakers. Sportsbooks may incorporate biases or focus on traditional metrics, while this market allows a broader range of information and perspectives to influence pricing. If sportsbook odds initially favor a particular outcome, we might see the prediction market odds adjust based on factors not fully captured by the sportsbook, such as team morale or recent player performance. Discrepancies can present opportunities for arbitrage, though these are often quickly exploited by traders.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a specific outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, constantly updating as new information becomes available. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to changing perceptions about the Afghanistan vs Zimbabwe ODI series.
This market resolves around Oct 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the results of the Afghanistan vs Zimbabwe ODI series are verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official results published by the governing body of the series, determining which team ultimately wins. The platform will then verify the outcome against these sources to finalize the market and distribute payouts to winning traders. The outcome will be determined by the overall winner of the series, as determined by the official match results.
Several factors could significantly influence this market before resolution. Unexpected player injuries or changes in team lineups for either Afghanistan or Zimbabwe would likely cause shifts in the odds. Major weather forecasts predicting disruptions to match schedules could also impact trading activity. Additionally, any news regarding team morale, coaching changes, or significant performance shifts in recent matches could move the market. Finally, public sentiment and analysis from sports commentators could also play a role in shaping trader perceptions and influencing the price of shares in this market.
