Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from traditional sportsbook odds due to varying levels of information and incentives. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market allows participants to directly express their beliefs about the outcome. If analysts or polls suggest a different likelihood of either team scoring first than what is reflected in the current odds, it could present an opportunity for informed traders. However, it’s important to remember that prediction markets and sportsbook odds represent different perspectives on the same event.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe a particular team will score first, the higher the price of shares representing that outcome will climb. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective intelligence of the crowd and adjusts in real-time as new information emerges.

This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be determined by which team—Truro City FC or Cirencester Town FC—scores the first goal in the match. If neither team scores during the match, that outcome will be considered the result. The resolution will be based on official match records and data, ensuring a transparent and accurate determination of the winning outcome for this market.

Several signals could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Truro City FC or Cirencester Town FC would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team form, recent match results, or even weather conditions on match day could also shift the odds. Unexpected tactical decisions announced by either manager, or even pre-match analysis from reputable sports commentators, could also cause movement in this market as traders react to new information and adjust their predictions.
