Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade and express their beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing the outcome, they can take the opposite position in this market, driving the price towards what they perceive as the true probability. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before a large amount of information becomes public, or when there’s strong public bias.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price isn’t determined by a central authority, but rather by the supply and demand created by traders’ actions, making it a decentralized and dynamic indicator of expectations for the Troian vs. Kovshun match.

This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Troian vs. Kovshun match, as determined by the governing sports organization. This ensures a transparent and objective determination of the winning outcome. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their positions based on the final result. The market will close and settle shortly after the official result is available.
