Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective intelligence of traders on Polymarket, aims to reflect the true probability of each outcome, potentially offering more favorable odds for informed bettors. However, it’s important to remember that both prediction markets and sportsbooks are subject to differing opinions and information, and discrepancies can occur.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price reflects the aggregated sentiment of all participants, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the likelihood of either Tractor Tabriz or Al-Shamal scoring first.

This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the Tractor Tabriz vs. Al-Shamal match. Official match records and widely accepted sports news sources will be used to determine the winning outcome. The platform will verify the result and distribute payouts to traders holding shares in the correct outcome.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in coaching staff, or unexpected player suspensions for either Tractor Tabriz or Al-Shamal would likely cause movement. Additionally, pre-match analysis from sports analysts, weather conditions on match day, and even significant shifts in public sentiment could all impact how traders position themselves, leading to changes in the price of shares in this market. Major in-game events during other matches involving these teams could also have an effect.
