This market centers on the outcome of a professional cricket match between two teams, determining which team secures a victory. The result hinges solely on the official match outcome as declared by the governing body. Various scenarios such as ties, cancellations, or insufficient play are accounted for with specific resolution conditions.
The event resolves based on the official winner of the men's professional NCL GT20 Canada cricket match between Toronto Nationals and Mississauga Skyhawks scheduled for October 28, 2026. If either team is declared the official winner by the governing body, the corresponding market resolves accordingly. Should the match end in a tie, draw, no result, abandonment, cancellation, or insufficient play to determine a winner, all markets resolve to $0.50. In cases of forfeit, disqualification, or concession, if the match has not started, all markets resolve to $0.50; if the match has begun and the governing body declares a winner, the market resolves based on that result. Kalshi is not affiliated with the governing league, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, but may also incorporate a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own information and beliefs. As more people participate, the odds tend to become a more accurate reflection of the true probability of each outcome. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before significant news or events impact perceptions of the teams’ chances.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of a contract reflects the market’s assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy a contract, its price increases, signaling growing confidence in that outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price represents the cost to acquire a contract that pays out if the corresponding outcome is verified after the event. Traders are constantly adjusting their positions, leading to dynamic price fluctuations based on new information and evolving sentiment.
This market resolves around Oct 29, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Toronto Nationals versus Mississauga Skyhawks game, as reported by the Canadian Elite Basketball League. The market will determine which team is declared the winner according to the league’s official scoring and rules. All trading will cease once the outcome is officially known and verified, and payouts will be distributed accordingly.
Several factors could influence the price movement in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team lineups, or coaching decisions could significantly shift expectations. Unexpected performance in other games leading up to the event could also impact perceptions of each team’s strength. Furthermore, major announcements about team strategies or any controversies surrounding the players could all contribute to volatility. Public sentiment and media coverage, while less direct, can also play a role in shaping trader behavior and influencing the odds.
