Frequently asked questions

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, aiming to profit regardless of the outcome, while this market allows traders to directly express their beliefs about the probability of each result. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information, analytical approaches, and the influence of public sentiment. It's common to see prediction markets move more efficiently as new information becomes available, potentially offering a more accurate forecast than initial sportsbook offerings.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible outcome—Tonbridge Angels winning the second half, Torquay United winning, or a draw. The price of each share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe an outcome is likely, the higher the price of its corresponding shares will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective wisdom of the crowd.

This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result of the second half of the Tonbridge Angels FC vs. Torquay United FC match—which team wins or if it ends in a draw—will determine the winning shares. The platform will verify the final score against official match data to determine the outcome and distribute payouts accordingly. Traders should monitor official sources for the final result to understand when the market will be settled.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market leading up to resolution. Any news regarding team form, key player injuries or suspensions, tactical changes, or even weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected events during the first half of the match, such as red cards or early goals, will likely cause significant price movements. Furthermore, large trades by influential market participants could also create short-term volatility. Monitoring these signals will be crucial for anyone looking to trade in this market before Oct 3, 2026.
