Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines to balance action and ensure profitability, while this market’s pricing is driven purely by what traders are willing to bet. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced an outcome, the odds on Polymarket will adjust accordingly. This can lead to prediction market odds being more accurate, especially when considering information not fully incorporated into traditional betting lines. It’s a fascinating comparison of different approaches to probability assessment.
