This prediction group concerns the winner of the Titled Tuesday weekly chess competition held on October 27, 2026. Multiple markets exist, each tied to a specific player potentially winning the tournament.
This market will resolve according to the winner of Titled Tuesday on October 27, 2026 11:59 PM ET. If the listed player does not play their corresponding market will resolve to "No". If this tournament is postponed after November 10, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, canceled, or a winner has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other." If multiple players are declared winner, this market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed name comes first alphabetically. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the tournament organizer, Chess.com (https://www.chess.com/events/info/2026-titled-tuesday-blitz); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
Each market corresponds to an individual chess player competing in the Titled Tuesday weekly chess competition scheduled for October 27, 2026. The event follows a blitz format and consists of 11 rounds in a Swiss tournament structure. A market resolves to 'Yes' only if the specified player wins the competition outright. If the designated player does not participate in the event, their respective market automatically resolves to 'No'. The markets are independent, meaning the resolution of one does not affect the others, and all outcomes are contingent on the official results declared by the event organizers.
Prediction market odds, like those found in this market, often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and risk assessment, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of many individual traders. This can lead to discrepancies, particularly when there’s significant public information or disagreement about the likely outcome. The spread between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds can sometimes indicate opportunities for arbitrage, although transaction costs and market liquidity should be considered.
Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi may diverge due to several factors. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different traders with varying risk appetites and information sets, which can lead to differing valuations. Furthermore, the liquidity and trading volume on each platform can influence price discovery. Polymarket might have more active traders focusing on chess, while Kalshi may have a broader user base with less specialized knowledge. These differences in market dynamics can result in price discrepancies even for the same underlying event, the Titled Tuesday competition.
