This event tracks the total points scored by both teams in a college football game, allowing participants to speculate on whether the combined score will exceed various thresholds. The outcome depends solely on the final point tally from the match. Postponements are handled based on timing of resumption.
All markets resolve based on whether the combined points scored by Texas Southern and Florida Atlantic in their game scheduled for October 3, 2026 exceed specified thresholds, ranging from 41.5 to 83.5 points. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, all markets remain open and resolve according to the final score. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own information and beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe the actual total points will be higher or lower than the sportsbook’s line, the price of contracts representing those outcomes will adjust accordingly. It’s common to see prediction markets offer more accurate probabilities, especially as the event approaches.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different total point outcomes for the Texas Southern vs Florida Atlantic game. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that specific point total occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices dynamically adjust, providing a real-time assessment of the likely total points scored. The market’s efficiency stems from the diverse perspectives and incentives of the traders involved.
This market resolves around Oct 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final points total scored in the Texas Southern vs Florida Atlantic game will be used to determine which contracts settle at 100, and which settle at 0. The official score, as reported by a recognized sports data provider, will serve as the definitive source for resolution. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the actual total points will receive a payout, while those holding contracts for different totals will not.
Several factors could influence the price of contracts in this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Texas Southern or Florida Atlantic teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, especially if they suggest conditions favorable for high or low scoring, could also impact trading activity. Late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions might also play a role. Finally, large volume trades from informed participants could shift the market’s perception of the likely total points, causing prices to adjust rapidly.
