In the upcoming Test Match cricket match between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe, originally scheduled for Thursday, November 5, 2026 at 12:00 AM ET (as of creation of the first market related to the event): This market refers to which team's player records the highest individual run total. The outcome corresponding to Afghanistan will be considered correct if the highest individual score in the match is recorded exclusively by a player from Afghanistan. The outcome corresponding to Zimbabwe will be considered correct if the highest individual score is recorded exclusively by a player from Zimbabwe. If the highest individual score is shared by at least one player from each team, the market will resolve to Draw. The market will resolve according to which team's player records the highest individual run total regardless of if the match is not competed (e.g. Due to weather conditions). DLS/DRS adjustments and any other on-field rulings affecting batting statistics are treated as ordinary data. If this market's outcome was definitively determined under its rules by the listed resolution sources before abandonment, that outcome will stand. Otherwise, the following no-result provisions apply. If the match is canceled, does not start by Saturday, November 7, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or is abandoned with no official result by that time, the market will resolve Draw. If the match is abandoned or otherwise completed without official batting statistics being recorded, the market will resolve Draw.

Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and incorporate a profit margin, while this market is driven by individuals trading based on their own research and insights. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced a player's chances, the odds on Polymarket will adjust accordingly. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply varying interpretations of the same data. It's common to see prediction markets offer more accurate probabilities, especially as the event nears.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each player being the top batter. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome. As more traders buy shares in a particular player, the price increases, reflecting a higher perceived chance of success. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts to new information and changing sentiment, providing a real-time assessment of probabilities based on collective intelligence. Currently, the market indicates a high probability for a draw, with traders allocating significant volume to that outcome.
This market resolves around Nov 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be determined by identifying the player who scores the most runs across both innings of the Afghanistan vs Zimbabwe Test match. In the event of a tie, the market will resolve in favor of the player who reached the tied score first. The official match results will serve as the basis for verifying the outcome, ensuring a transparent and accurate resolution process for all traders participating in this market.
Several factors could influence the trading activity in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in pitch conditions, or weather forecasts could significantly shift the odds. Strong performances by a particular player in preceding matches or practice sessions could also drive up their share price. Unexpected announcements about team lineups or strategic changes could also lead to market movement. Furthermore, general shifts in public sentiment or the release of expert analyses could impact trader behavior and alter the probabilities reflected on Polymarket.
