Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamics of supply and demand within the prediction market. If you find a significant difference between the odds here and those offered by sportsbooks, it could signal an opportunity to exploit a mispricing, though remember that both represent probabilities as perceived by different groups.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the market’s current assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust accordingly. The platform does not use any external factors to set prices; it is entirely driven by the collective actions of users trading on Predict.
