Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to express their own informed opinions. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply variations in how each assesses the probability of a particular result. It's common to see this market move independently of sportsbook lines as new information becomes available and traders adjust their positions.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief about the outcome of the Tennessee Tech vs. Citadel game. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand for these shares, creating a dynamic and real-time representation of expectations.

Unexpected changes in weather conditions, coaching decisions, or even significant pre-game analysis from reputable sports commentators could also influence trading activity. Furthermore, large volume trades on Polymarket itself can act as a signal, indicating a change in sentiment among informed traders and potentially triggering further price movement.
