Comparing prediction market odds to sportsbook odds reveals how collective intelligence differs from traditional oddsmaking. Sportsbooks typically set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, aiming to balance action on both sides. This market, however, reflects the wisdom of the crowd, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of a decentralized market. Significant differences may present opportunities for arbitrage, where traders profit from price inefficiencies between the two.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the outcome of the Tebenko vs. Maltsev match. The price of a contract directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price fluctuates, reflecting the evolving consensus. The market’s price is determined entirely by supply and demand, with no central authority setting the odds.
This market resolves around Nov 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Tebenko vs. Maltsev match as reported by the governing sports organization. The platform will verify the result against publicly available sources to ensure accuracy and transparency. Traders holding the winning contract will be entitled to a payout based on the final market price at the time of resolution, while those holding losing contracts will forfeit their stake.
