This market determines which tight end will achieve the highest fantasy points in a specific week of the professional football season, using a standard scoring system that rewards receptions, yards, touchdowns, and other in-game achievements.
Each market resolves to "Yes" if the specified player finishes highest in total full-PPR fantasy points among all tight ends in Week 5 of the 2026 NFL regular season, as calculated by Sleeper's scoring system. Points are awarded based on receiving yards (0.1 per yard), receptions (1 per reception), touchdowns (6 points), and additional special teams contributions. If the designated player does not participate in any games that week, they are considered to have scored zero points. In the event of a tie for the highest score among eligible players, the market resolves to a fractional value of 1 divided by the number of players tied, with no holder receiving the full contract value minus the "Yes" payout. All players, including those not explicitly listed in individual markets, are ranked, and player eligibility is determined by Sleeper at the time of market expiration.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which can be influenced by factors like house biases or initial public perception. Sportsbooks may set initial lines to attract action, while this market allows participants to continuously update their beliefs based on new information and collective insights. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before significant news breaks, as the prediction market can react more quickly to changing sentiment and data. Analyzing these differences can offer valuable perspectives on the true probabilities of various outcomes.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the probability of each player being the top-performing tight end. As more people buy a contract, its price increases, reflecting a higher perceived probability. Conversely, selling pressure lowers the price. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a contract directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring, providing a dynamic and transparent pricing mechanism driven entirely by supply and demand from traders.
This market resolves around Oct 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the player with the highest fantasy point total at the tight end position in Week 5 of the NFL season, as calculated by standard fantasy football scoring rules, will be considered the winner. The resolution will be based on official NFL statistics and widely recognized fantasy football platforms to ensure accuracy and transparency. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on their positions in this market.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Injury reports are a major catalyst; news of a key tight end being ruled out would likely shift probabilities towards other players. Unexpected changes in quarterback performance or offensive schemes could also influence a tight end's projected fantasy points. Game matchups play a role, as favorable matchups against weaker defenses tend to increase a player’s potential. Finally, any late-breaking news regarding player health or playing time will undoubtedly cause movement in this market as traders adjust their assessments.
