Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If many traders believe a particular outcome is more likely than implied by sportsbook odds, they will buy 'yes' shares, driving up the price and reflecting that belief. This can lead to discrepancies between the two, as this market represents the wisdom of the crowd rather than a bookmaker's assessment.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a 'yes' share reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders enter the market with differing opinions, the price adjusts to find an equilibrium. The current price is determined solely by supply and demand within Polymarket.
This market resolves around Nov 7, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Tatarnykov vs. Aristarkhov match, as reported by recognized sports authorities. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine which outcome is the winner and fulfill the market's contracts accordingly. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or account for any losses.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before Nov 7, 2026. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or even weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected results in other matches involving these players might also impact the perceived probabilities. Public opinion, as reflected in sports news and analysis, could also play a role, as traders react to new information and adjust their positions accordingly. Major upsets or surprising performances could lead to significant price movements.
