This market refers to the cricket match between Maldives and Singapore scheduled for October 9 2026 at 2:00 AM ET in T20 World Cup Asia Sub-Regional Qualifier B. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on the collective wisdom of traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is undervaluing or overvaluing a particular outcome, the odds here may diverge. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbooks, especially when complex factors are at play or information isn’t widely available. Comparing the two can provide a more comprehensive view of potential outcomes.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined entirely by supply and demand – if traders believe Singapore is likely to win, they’ll buy shares, driving up the price, and vice versa. This creates a dynamic and real-time assessment of the match’s potential results.
This market resolves around Oct 16, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the T20 World Cup Asia Sub-Regional Qualifier B match between the Maldives and Singapore. The platform will verify the result against widely available sources, such as official tournament websites and sports news outlets. The market will then settle, and shares will be redeemed based on the final outcome of the match, reflecting whether the match was completed or not.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding team lineups, player injuries, or changes in weather conditions could significantly shift expectations. Unexpected announcements about the match schedule or venue could also impact prices. Furthermore, performance in preceding matches or broader trends in the teams’ recent form may influence traders’ beliefs. Even general sentiment expressed in sports news or social media could contribute to price movements, as traders react to new information and adjust their predictions accordingly.
