This market refers to the cricket match between Qatar and Mongolia scheduled for October 12 2026 at 2:00 AM ET in T20 World Cup Asia Sub-Regional Qualifier A. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Comparing prediction market odds to those offered by sportsbooks reveals how public sentiment differs from professional oddsmakers. Sportsbooks typically set initial lines based on statistical analysis and team performance, while this market reflects the wisdom of the crowd. If prediction market odds significantly diverge from sportsbook odds, it might suggest that traders possess information or insights not yet fully incorporated into traditional betting lines. It’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, but are derived through different methodologies and information sources.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This means that as more people believe an outcome is likely, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. The market dynamically adjusts to new information and changing opinions, providing a real-time assessment of probabilities.
This market resolves around Oct 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Qatar vs Mongolia cricket match, as reported by recognized sports authorities. The market will determine which outcome – Qatar winning, Mongolia winning, or a draw – actually occurred during the match. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final, verified result.
Several factors could influence this market before its resolution. Any news regarding team lineups, player injuries, or changes in weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected upsets in other matches within the qualifying tournament could also impact perceptions of team strength. Furthermore, major news events related to the participating countries or the sport of cricket itself could introduce volatility. Ultimately, any information that alters the perceived probability of either team winning will likely cause movement in this market.
