Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a particular outcome is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially in events where public perception diverges from expert analysis, or where new information emerges that isn't yet fully priced into sportsbook lines.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief about the probability of each outcome. As more shares are traded, the price of each share adjusts to reflect the collective sentiment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a 'yes' share, for example, indicates the market’s estimated probability that a specific team will hit more sixes. Higher demand for 'yes' shares drives up the price, increasing the implied probability, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the most up-to-date information available.

This market resolves around Oct 21, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team that hits the most sixes during the Bhutan vs Thailand cricket match will be declared the winner of this market. The resolution will be based on official match statistics and data, ensuring an objective and transparent determination of the result. Traders will be able to claim their winnings based on the final outcome as reported by recognized sports authorities.

Several factors could influence the trading activity in this market. Any news regarding player injuries or changes in team lineups for either Bhutan or Thailand could significantly shift the odds. Weather forecasts predicting conditions favorable for hitting sixes (e.g., short boundaries, dry pitches) might increase the probability of a high-scoring game. Furthermore, performance in preceding matches or recent form of key players could also impact trader sentiment and drive price movements on Polymarket. Unexpected announcements related to the match venue or playing conditions could also cause changes.
