This set of markets focuses on predicting the point differential in the second quarter of a college football game between Syracuse and UConn. Each market corresponds to a specific point margin threshold that must be exceeded by either team to resolve as a win.
These markets resolve based on the point differential exclusively during the second quarter of the Syracuse vs UConn college football game scheduled for October 3, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold that determines a 'Yes' outcome—Syracuse must win by more than the stated margin (10.5, 7.5, 6.5, 3.5, or 2.5 points) or UConn must win by more than the stated margin (2.5, 3.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 10.5 points). Only points scored in the second quarter count toward these thresholds. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction markets and sportsbooks often arrive at similar probabilities, but they do so through different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds based on their internal models and aim to balance action on both sides of a bet to ensure a profit. This market, however, reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the unique dynamics of each venue. It’s common to see prediction markets react more quickly to new information than traditional sportsbooks, potentially offering a more up-to-date assessment of the likely result.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the final point spread in the second quarter of the Syracuse vs UConn game will be used to determine which contracts settle positively. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring an objective and verifiable result. Traders holding contracts on the correct spread will receive a payout, while those with incorrect predictions will forfeit their stake. The final score will be the deciding factor in this market.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before it resolves. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Syracuse or UConn teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team strategy or starting lineups could also shift trader sentiment. Furthermore, unexpected weather conditions, if they affect the game, might cause the market to react. Even public perception and media coverage surrounding the game could contribute to price movements, as traders incorporate new information into their predictions. Overall game performance in the first quarter could also move this market.
